Today, our teacher sent my class some work on Changes of Matter. It is about science and we had to choose between 4 different types of science experiments. But first, We watched a video about science and the difference between physical and chemical change. Physical change is when a substance changes its form but is still the same substance it was before, where chemical change is when a substance changes completely. My experiment is a physical change because it change its form but it was still milk and food coloring.
So the science experiments are:
Chocolate Mug Cake
Color Changing Milks
Bouncing Bubbles.
Milk Plastic Tags.
The one that I did was the Color Changing Milk. You need:
Milk, Food Coloring, Dish Soap and a Cotton Swab. You pour the milk onto a plate and put one drop of 4 different colors of food coloring. Put dish soap on the cotton swab and stick the dish soap side of the cotton swab in the center of the milk, where the food coloring is. Then you will see the change!
Why I think this happened?
I think this happened because of a chemical in the dish soap that the food coloring wants to be separate, just like water and oil. This is just my prediction.
Would you try this experiment?
Thank you,
Tweeny
